Position Summary: Gear Up is seeking production team assistant leads who are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment as they support team leads in meeting production goals and quality standards. Assistant leads will have a narrower focus than team leads but will be expected to support and fill in for team leads in completing daily tasks, coordinating work, leading meetings. Roles and areas of focus might change as business requirements change.

Hours/Attendance: 40 to 50 hours per week depending on seasonal business levels. OT will be required during peak seasons. Regular, dependable attendance is required to perform the essential duties of this this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership for assigned tasks and support lead in delivering team results.
  • Communicate daily assignments for team members. Adjust assignments as needed throughout shift.
  • Lead daily team meetings on a regular schedule so that you can step in when the lead is out.
  • Take direction from your lead. Complete tasks and projects on time.
  • Understand and communicate production priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with leads across functions and across shifts.
  • Train/cross train new and existing team members.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Fulfil additional responsibilities as assigned by lead and manager.
  • Support escalation and problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in process development and improvement.
  • Participate on Safety Committee as assigned. Practice and apply safe working principles.
  • Perform the daily work of a Production Team Member in assigned area of responsibility when not performing the above leadership responsibilities (generally at least 50% of the day).
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities as requested.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb OSHA approved rolling ladders.
