Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually

Position Summary: The HR Generalist administrators critical human resources functions including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, employee records.management, and labor law compliance. You will support gearUP’s managers and leads as they build, train, develop, and manage their teams. You will frequently interact with all levels of staff in a confidential and diplomatic environment, You will also support and enhance our company culture based on the values of teamwork, play, curiosity, respect, accountability and boldness.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions/postings, job advertising, resume screening, interviewing, providing training and support for hiring managers, and drafting offer letters.
- Lead new hire onboarding and orientation process.
- Assist with procuring, scheduling and delivering employee training and development resources.
- Manage employee separation and offboarding processes.
- Support and guide managers through employee relations issues, performance management, and disciplinary actions ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws.
- Support management and employees through annual performance appraisal process.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, training and related employee support.
- Payroll processing and support.
- Administer protected leave programs, including documentation and leave tracking and employee training and awareness.
- Ensure the maintenance of physical and digital employee data and documents, and accurate maintenance of this data in the company’s HRIS systems and personnel files
- Provide support to the Safety Committee and assist with safety documentation and training.
- Coordinate employee engagement events and programs and support the Employee Engagement Committee.
- Participate in the development, implementation and updating of HR policies and department processes.
- Maintain current knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned.

The candidate will be able to deal with ambiguity in requests and need to have strong problem-solving skills.
Skills & Qualities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Proficient knowledge of federal and state employment laws and human resources practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quick, accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to apply and communicate policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple, concurrent projects or assignments.
- Ability to write HR related documents and reports timely and accurately.
- Ability to analyze situations and to use independent judgement to address and solve problems.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle such information appropriately.
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams
- Experience with Payroll and Human Resources software.
Experience & Education
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a human resources role
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field required.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification encouraged.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Viewing computer monitors for extended periods.
- Talking, listening, and typing for extended periods
