I’m looking for someone to manage the engineering squad for a core piece of our product: our creative content editor. We acquired Parcel, the best development platform for creating email, in 2022 and we’re hard at work bringing it’s powerful features into our main Journey’s product. This is our opportunity to build the ideal experience for people who build emails using Email creation is a core activity in our product. We want the creative experience to be easy, delightful and powerful.

We’re creating one editor that switches seamlessly between code and design and provides a consistent editing experience across channels. Our customer’s teams are made up of people with different skills, but one goal— to build out a marketing strategy and design system that adheres to brand guidelines. The way in which users want to build that system— code or no code—should not matter.

As an Engineering Manager at, you will...

  • Lead effective squad rituals, and ensure production readiness through peer-review, quality review, documentation, deployment, logging, and monitoring practices
  • Ensure your squad’s solutions are scalable, architecturally sound, flexible, and secure
  • Create accountability for delivery timelines while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and empathetic work environment
  • Provide direct, timely, and specific coaching and development opportunities for your direct reports across backend, front-end, full stack, and QA
  • Hire, onboard, transfer, and manage performance to ensure the right people are in place to accomplish business objectives within your squad
  • Understand’s vision, business model, target markets, acquisition channels, competitors, and products well enough to ask questions that drive meaningful investigation within your squad
  • Build and maintain a partnership with your Product Management and Design peers

We're looking for someone who…

  • Works in North/South American time zones
  • Has at least two years of experience as an Engineering Manager working on a SaaS product (B2B or B2C) at an (ideally early-to-mid-stage) SaaS company
  • Understands SaaS software architecture, programming languages, technologies, and cloud infrastructure deeply enough to represent their squad’s technical choices across the company
  • Makes time to understand technical architecture, learn new technologies, review proposals, and provide feedback to level up the engineers around them
  • Builds and nurtures high performing teams
  • Is fueled to reach higher when our customers are having a bad day
  • Communicates concisely, accurately, and directly, both verbally and in writing


Our mission at is to power automated communication that people like to receive. Today over 7,100 internet businesses use to manage, send, and track the performance of emails, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messages. Unlike typical marketing platforms, helps businesses increase relevance by using behavioral data: what people do or don’t do when logged in to a web or mobile app.

This is a fully remote role. We are offering a starting salary of $175,000-$190,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency) depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
