gearUP is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and drive our financial strategy during this exciting phase of growth. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of gearUP, ensuring its financial health, and driving strategic decision-making across the organization. You will lead all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and investor relations, working closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders.   Your direct reports will include the Controller and Director of Human Resources.  You will report to the CEO.

Responsibilities include:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Manage and optimize financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analysis to stakeholders, including the executive team, board of directors, and investors.
  • Develop and execute the Company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial best practices.
  • Implement financial systems, tools, and processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

Strategic Decision-Making and Business Partnerships:

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive team to provide financial insights and guidance on strategic initiatives, business development, and investment decisions.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and investment opportunities, conducting financial due diligence and assessing their impact on the company’s growth and financial performance.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and other key stakeholders, offering financial perspectives and recommendations to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the company.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Education:

  • Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in a high-growth company.  Experience with recurring/reoccurring revenue and/or e-commerce industry is a plus.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in financial leadership roles.
  • Strong financial acumen and deep knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in capital raising, investor relations, and strategic financial decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA highly preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite with advanced Excel skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time
  • Talking, listening, and typing for extended periods of time

Work Envirornment:

  • Work is performed primarily on site at our company headquarters in Hillsboro, Oregon in a normal office environment with occasional travel.
