ESS is hiring a motivated Field Service Technician (FST) to perform onsite commissioning, repairs and updates, and preventative maintenance on our Energy Warehouse™ product. FST works closely with our Field Service Engineers and external customers to solve technical problems and identify areas to improve customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do at ESS.

  • As part of the ESS Field Service Operations group and in support of our Field Service Engineers, provide onsite commissioning of our Energy Warehouse™ product, upgrades, updates, repairs, and planned maintenance service.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction targets as specified.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
  • Follow and support the administration structure within the Field Service group both for the company in general and at any customer site.
  • Follow all reporting responsibilities of the Field Service group including providing status updates to assigned Field Service Requests (FSR) and entering Field Service Observations as appropriate.
  • Follow all company policies that pertain to material requests, inventory control, and spare parts maintenance.
  • Follow all company policies regarding environment, health, and safety.
  • Maintain technical competency level servicing by attending training, staff meetings and remaining up to speed on new products, markets, customers, and competitors.
  • Work on assignments where independent action and moderate degree of initiative are required to resolve problems and recommend actions.
  • Manage travel expenses and follow ESS travel policies and guidelines.
  • Display professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all internal/external customer interactions.

What you bring to the table.

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar capacity with direct experience in any electrical, mechanical, chemical, and plumbing servicing of large industrial equipment.
  • AA in a technical field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 75% either domestically or internationally.
  • Ability to construct and assemble electrical conduit and junction boxes. primarily in support of test equipment.
  • Ability to follow job required Operating Instructions, Standards and Safety Protocols, per pre-defined processes.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment according to OSHA rules and regulations.

Working Conditions

  • Has good visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in weather with appropriate gear.
