ESS is hiring a Facilities Technician who will assist with maintaining daily operations of the physical facility, support maintenance mechanics and facilities staff by performing “handyman” maintenance duties such as troubleshooting, light plumbing, running PVC or other pipe, furniture moves, cubicle setup, drywall, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup, work with outside contractors on building and equipment repairs, operate site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary. May perform other activities such as audio-visual (AV) set up for meetings or conferences, inter-office mail deliveries, recycling, and stocking of PPE. Will maintain documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram, space usage, preventive maintenance logs, etc. 

 

What you’ll do at ESS.

 

  • Assist Facilities Manager with preventative maintenance programs and ensure PMs are complete on time.
  • Operate maintenance Equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary. 
  • Maintain facilities in a presentable condition; ensure safety compliance for OSHA and DEQ are attained to ensure all facilities are safe for employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Assist Facilities Manager in providing cost savings and cost avoidances.
  • General Facility support on a daily basis (i.e. building cubicles, office moves, stocking supplies, etc.). 
  • Make periodic inspection of the facilities to determine repair work as necessary.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to site-wide maintenance requests & questions. 
  • Research parts and place purchase requisitions.

 

What you bring to the table.

Minimum requirements:

 

  • Requires minimum of 3+ years facilities support.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and DEQ Regulations.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and light construction.
  • Experience driving forklift and driving/working off a scissor lift.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, visual acuity, and manual dexterity.
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office programs and outlook required.
  • ERP experience (placing Purchase requisitions), CMMS (computer maintenance management systems) experience preferred.  

We’d love to see:

 

  • Welding, industrial electrical, machining, sheet metal fabrication, masonry, or any other technical trade skills are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience using computerized building control systems.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
