We’re searching for a highly skilled Project Manager to contribute to ESS’s growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative energy storage product authority. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience as well as strong leadership implementing project management frameworks. Project Manager is expected to work with other cross-functional team members to manage project activities and have in-depth technical knowledge of the company released products. As a Project Manager you will work with various departments in establishing support to released products, managing performance and risk mitigation plan.


What you’ll do at ESS.

  • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation
  • Own the project management phases, including establishing and tracking project timelines and budgets based on product development process Phase Gate definitions
  • Lead multiple project development efforts and teams concurrently
  • Apply design control procedures to take a design from concept, through verification, and release for manufacturing execution
  • Lead the project teams in assessing and maintaining risk analysis with well-developed and documented mitigation plans
  • Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.
  • Clearly communicate project status, roadblocks, and escalations to management and stakeholders
  • Continually identify gaps/areas for improvement, and initiate corrective action plans
  • Support program manager on program scope, schedule, budget, risk management and trade-off data, and accompanying tools.

What you bring to the table.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing, project management systems and methodologies.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience leading technical cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Extensive experience with MS Project
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation

We’d love to see:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • PMP, CAPM, PgMP or equivalent certification
