The Role

As the lead frontend developer at The Dyrt, you will be responsible for leading and managing our combined frontend team of web and mobile developers. We are currently in the process of expanding our campground booking system by building inventory management tools for campground owners and making it easier than ever for our users to find and book campgrounds.

Our current web frontend is built with Next.js and our mobile apps are built with React Native. In this position we will be looking to you for experience, knowledge, and the confidence to guide the team in decision making, prioritize work, and communicate to stakeholders about project status..

You’ll be leading a team of 8 - 10 other frontend developers and collaborating closely with our API, Product, and Design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of frontend developers working to evolve and maintain our core code and product functionality.
  • Helping define the longer-term technical vision for scaling and maintaining our frontend codebase
  • Coordinating with other departments at The Dyrt for analytics gathering, marketing campaigns, and product development
  • Estimating complexity and dividing up tasks when new projects are brought to the team
  • Monitoring frontend vitals, triaging support requests and delegating work to team members
  • Coordinating web and app releases on a regular schedule

Experience and Requirements:

  • Have at least 5+ years professional experience developing modern web apps and/or mobile apps in React, React Native, Vue, Next.js or similar
  • Care about code legibility and maintenance, interested in maintaining and sharing best practices on the team
  • Provide constructive feedback on pull requests and are enthusiastic about mentoring developers on the team
  • Can identify performance concerns and look for opportunities to reduce technical debt
  • Have strong writing and communication skills for leading team members, documenting project requirements, and coordinating with other teams
  • Can weigh multiple solutions for a problem against business needs and time constraints in order to meet company goals
  • Are committed to equity and will respect and value your coworkers' opinions no matter their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Extra Credit:

  • Experience working with design systems
  • Familiarity with SEO and event tracking basics
  • Experience with deep links and Iterable
  • Firebase experience

This is a full-time remote position. Employees are expected to have high-speed internet and a professional working environment sufficient for clear video conferencing during regular working hours.
