ESS is hiring an experienced Payroll Specialist to support our rapid growth. As the Payroll Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for on time and accurate processing of payroll in ADP Workforce Now. 

 

What you’ll do at ESS.

  • Process hourly, salaried, and contractor payroll semi-monthly, including expense reimbursements, bonuses, and adjustments
  • Process mid-cycle payrolls as needed for terminations, severance, bonus, etc.
  • Process garnishments in WFN
  • Maintain the GL mapping in ADP and create the GL file for each payroll
  • Calculate month-end payroll related accruals
  • Produce payroll cycle and ad hoc payroll reports
  • Be the subject matter expert on payroll (ADP Workforce Now)
  • Support employees as the primary point of contact for all payroll related questions
  • Audit and reconcile payroll records
  • Document and maintain payroll processes and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Support the accounting team with other duties including, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and account reconciliations

 

What you bring to the table.

Minimum requirements:

  • 4+ years of payroll processing experience using ADP WFN
  • Ability to manage full cycle payroll for 150+ US employees in multiple states
  • Familiar with federal and state payroll requirements and changes in the law
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills focused on meeting deadlines
  • Vigilant at maintaining confidential information
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

We’d love to see:

  • CPP or CPS certification
  • Payroll experience with a public company
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting
