ESS is seeking a dynamic Sr. Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer who will work closely with our software development team to create software that will run the flow battery systems. Reporting to the VP of Quality, the Sr. SQA Engineer will have broad responsibility over the testing and release of customer-facing software.

What you’ll do at ESS.

  • Requirement analysis
  • Write software test cases, test code release candidates, and provide reports
  • Participate in the testing process throughout the design cycle of the battery systems
  • Bug tracking and triage
  • Software build and deployment
  • Work with developers and tech writers to provide release notes and other documentation
  • Continuously improve ESS’s software release process
  • Participate in customer design meetings and acceptance reviews

What you bring to the table.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a mature software development environment
  • 5+ years of experience with software/hardware system testing
  • Experience with Linux system management
  • Hands-on experience in software architecture and design is a plus
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
