We are looking for a Senior Revenue Account responsible for reviewing and evaluating sales contracts for appropriate revenue recognition treatment as well as helping to design, create, execute, and analyze how ESS accounts for revenue as we continue to grow and expand our business.

What you’ll do at ESS.

  • Review, analyze, and interpret sales contracts to ensure revenue transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 606)
  • Proactively assess areas of revenue risk and manage appropriately
  • Interface with Sales regarding contract specifics and resolving potential revenue issues as they arise
  • Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, deferred revenue analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, and close packages
  • Enhance and document policies, procedures, and controls
  • Build and manage strong business partnerships with key sales, finance, and operations leaders to help drive key company initiatives and improvements
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with the external audit process as well as assist in performing internal control procedures to ensure SOX compliance
  • Develop best practices in go forward accounting systems, processes, and procedures as it relates to revenue recognition
  • Assist in special projects and other duties as appropriate.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years accounting experience, including specific experience performing technical accounting assessments for sales contracts under the ASC 606 framework
  • Strong attention to detail and technical acumen
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
