Role Summary:

CrowdStreet is seeking an experienced, motivated marketing professional to lead the marketing and communication efforts for Investment & Wealth Solutions (IWS).

The role will be accountable for developing and managing the marketing strategy to support the group’s client acquisition and servicing efforts with financial advisors utilizing CrowdStreet custom thematic and diversified funds, and with HNW Investors leveraging CrowdStreet diversified funds and/or our Managed Accounts investing experience.

The IWS Marketing Director will partner with IWS business and sales leadership to craft the vision for how financial advisors and HNW Investors engage with CrowdStreet from a marketing perspective, inclusive of in-person and digital engagement. The role will partner with marketing colleagues to develop channel-specific programs that drive new advisor/investor growth and support/enrich existing client relationships.

The successful candidate will have extensive distribution-focused marketing leadership expertise across most owned, earned and paid disciplines -- ideally from within the alternative investment and/or wealth management industries.

The Success You'll Build—Primary Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Responsible for strategic positioning, planning and execution of the channel marketing strategy for CrowdStreet IWS

  • Design a marketing communication strategy to support the product lifecycle for all CrowdStreet Funds distributed through IWS, from capital raising to return-of capital

  • Design a marketing communication strategy to elevate the Managed Account offering, nurture HNW Investor engagement, and deliver a best in class client experience

  • Generate and execute content-rich, digitally-focused campaigns designed to strengthen the CrowdStreet brand and advance IWS commercial objectives

  • Design best-in-class HNW investor and advisor events that span in person to scaled virtual engagements

  • Take a data-driven approach to measurement to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns across IWS audience segments

  • Act as key stakeholder in the development of CrowdStreet’s marketing technology strategy to support client engagement efforts

  • Provide product marketing leadership to IWS that will both support and inform future decisions on financial product attributes and go-to-market strategies

  • Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for IWS internally at CrowdStreet and with key intermediary gatekeepers

The Experiences That Will Help You Succeed:

  • 10+ years of experience in asset management, fintech, or financial services, with some part of that ideally in Commercial Real Estate

  • Demonstrated experience developing high-impact marketing campaigns that resonate with financial advisors and/or HNW Investors

  • Track record of establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with sales teams

  • A strategic mindset and vision for how marketing can drive commercial impact

  • Growth marketing fluency (data enrichment, personas, funnel nurturing, demand generation, customer acquisition)

  • Performance marketing fluency (paid search/social, display, native, programmatic, retargeting, affiliate, CRO)

  • Marketing analytics & technology fluency (engagement analytics, M/SQL scoring/passing, PPC CAC reporting, marketing research, martech stack essentials)

  • Content marketing fluency (editorial strategy, content origination, thought leadership taxonomy)

  • Earned media fluency (proactive media relations strategy, executive media narratives/training, pulse surveys, social media content/community development)

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required

  • Lean/agile start-up or scale-up experience a plus

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses a plus

  • Deep understanding of the investment landscape, specifically alternative asset managers, financial advisor channels, High Net Worth Investors, and related investment products, services, regulations and trends

  • Thorough understanding of our target customers -- particularly RIAs, other private wealth firms and Accredited Investors
