ESS is hiring a motivated, hard-working Test Technician to join our team. This person is responsible for maintaining test equipment (cleaning, building/fixing, calibrating), modifying test equipment under engineering supervision, making chemical solutions, providing high quality record keeping, and working with engineers as required.

What you’ll do at ESS.

  • Set up and maintain test equipment per pre-defined procedures (or with direct supervision): mechanical builds and fixes; plumbing build and fixes; chemical cleanup (acids/bases, non-hazardous salts)
  • Measure, mix and store wet and dry chemicals
  • Maintain clean working environment.
  • Data collection and entry into Excel

What you bring to the table.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and procedures
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with dynamic daily priorities
  • Ability to use basic hand tools including wrenches, hammer, tape measure, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills consistently without error
  • Familiar with data collection and entry
  • Ability to take and follow detailed notes
  • Ability to follow job required Standards and Safety Protocols, per pre-defined processes, including the ability to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), according to OSHA rules and regulations
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted

  • Any chemical handling experience
  • Experience working in a start-up environment
  • Experience in new-product introduction and scale to manufacturing
  • Basic Excel Skills
