Role and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the CTO to partner with in establishing and achieving our technical vision and scaling milestones to align with business objectives, user experience, and revenue goals.

  • Facilitate the technical vision and ensure excellent technical and architectural decision-making across the Engineering team.

  • Scale, manage, and mentor a team of engineers to ensure for range of relevant capabilities and levels of experience.

  • Lead effort to migrate engineering ownership of new products from partner to in-house, and establish and scale engineering teams to support.

  • Cultivate skills and manage team performance, guiding engineers in career progression, promotions, and performance improvement. 

  • Build upon and maintain our culture of speed, excellence, collaboration, mentorship, and open feedback in engineering.

  • Enable the engineers to deliver outstanding value to the business by ensuring operational excellence at every level.

  • Work with stakeholders across the company and on the executive team to ensure that engineering is moving in lockstep with the business.

  • Establish documentation standards and processes to ensure all engineering products are clearly and thoroughly documented. 

  • Own your team’s deliverables and ensure they continue to ship scalable, highly-available products.
