The Job:

Hubb is looking for a talented and passionate UX/UI Designer to join our growing team. This position is an integral part of our creative services team, working closely with both development and marketing.

The goal of UX/UI Designer is so much more than simply creating a beautiful design; it's about creating an amazing user experience! A very crucial part of this role is understanding how a user navigates through a product and what is of most value and benefit to them. A UX/UI designer must have a deep understanding of customer goals and serve as the user’s advocate throughout the design process. There is a certain level of "selflessness" that is necessary to see beyond simply the aesthetic and achieve also the beauty of seamless function. Our ideal candidate has the ability to create elegant user-centered designs, demonstrated ability to balance high-level, holistic reasoning with detail-oriented feature design, and facility designing for both web and mobile channels. They anticipate project needs, mediate issues as they arise and make decisions that are informed by statistical and competitive analysis as well as documented user research

Have the ability to create simple and elegant experiences that account for complex user flows and technical considerations. You regularly use empathy, logic, and hard data to inform design choices, and are an expert in your product(s).


  • Collaborate with the marketing and development teams to create and maintain a seamless, beautiful UX/UI for the Hubb platform
  • Create and implement solutions to improve the user experience based on internal analytics, survey results, and new feature requests
  • Work with our marketing team to design and create web pages and HTML emails
  • Define user flows, storyboards, wire-frames and detailed visual specifications to describe the user experience and communicate with peers and stakeholders
  • Lead research initiatives including competitive analysis, user interviews, usability testing, taxonomy audits and Information Architecture review
  • Lead collaborative ideation sessions with representatives from all key-stakeholder teams
  • Maintain, champion and evolve Hubb design standards
  • Evangelize best-in-class UX solutions to internal product and business teams

  • A strong digital portfolio with relevant examples of UX design techniques and problem-solving skills—previous experience with data visualization or mobile is a plus
  • Ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches, wire frames, mock ups and animations
  • Strong skill set in all relevant software, including Adobe Creative Suite, HTML 5, JavaScript/jQuery and CSS3
  • Strong visual design skills and a solid understanding of current visual trends
  • Strong conceptual skills and demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype and design to communicate ideas to others
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work professionally with teams
  • Be a passionate advocate for design thinking across roles
  • Collaborative working style; focused on getting the best solution for the user and/or brand


Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, HCI, or other related field desired
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in UX/UI standards and best practices including layouts, iconography, and information architecture design
  • Familiar skill set in all relevant software, including Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML 5, JavaScript / jQuery and CSS3
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
