THE ROLE

 

In this role, the Senior Accountant/Controller with minimal assistance, will be responsible for helping to implement the  processes and controls to improve operational efficiency, day to day accounting operations & systems, and technical accounting & policies. The ideal candidate has SaaS experience, is highly analytical and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.  This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing startup and grow with the company over time.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

 

  • Lead and facilitate a tight month-end close process including closing JEs,  payroll/commissions, expense reports and bank reconciliations.  

  • Management of financial statements including Profit/Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow 

  • Support annual budget process and quarterly forecast updates as needed

  • Quarterly budget-to-actuals reporting with variance analysis

  • Support CFO with ad-hoc analysis including investor and stakeholder reporting

  • Develop and implement financial controls in accordance with the industry standard

  • Support implementation of new accounting systems as the company scales 

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 

  • 5+ years progressive senior level accounting experience at a SaaS/software company

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline

  • Preference for a CPA license with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 Compliance

  • Proficiency with Quickbooks and advanced MS Excel (i.e. pivot tables) 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, highly analytical and organized
