As moovel’s next Embedded System Test Engineer you’ll be responsible for creating world-class embedded applications for urban mobility and transit agencies with seamless user experiences deployed throughout the world. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Working collaboratively in an agile cross-functional team
  • Contributing to the design and development of new products and services
  • Supporting existing products and services that people are using everyday
  • Be an outspoken, proactive champion of quality
  • Define test strategy, create test plans, and test our embedded software transit products
  • Design and develop automated test suites and test tools
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Responsible for bug tracking and management of bugs
  • Work on a high functioning, fast paced team with ability to pivot dependent on market/technology demands

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of development and test experience with embedded operating systems
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Buildroot, and other cross-compilation tool chains
  • C, C++ coding knowledge
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and debugging complex system issues
  • Knowledge of embedded IoT communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS-485, RS-232, CAN
  • Knowledge of internet protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT
  • Experience with BLE, BLE Mesh, WiFi, NFC, and barcode technologies
  • Experience with custom board bring-up
  • In-depth understanding of embedded testing approaches
  • Experience implementing automated test harnesses for embedded systems
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as SCRUM and KANBAN and embedded system development life cycles
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with Windows Embedded (WinCE 6.0 - Win IoT) and Embedded Android
  • Experience with some Android and iOS development
  • Knowledge of IoT development and architectures
