dramatically improve the comfort, sound insulation, and energy efficiency of existing

windows while contributing to a significant reduction in carbon emissions. Indow is

experiencing rapid customer acceptance as it expands nationally.

 

You:​ We are looking for a Buyer/Planner Specialist who will help Indow thrive by assessing

and executing Indow’s purchasing, material inflow and inventory control efforts from the

Operations Department. Your goal will be to help Indow maximize efficiency and profits by

maintaining optimal inventory levels and pricing while thriving in a lean manufacturing

environment .

 

The Buyer/Planner Specialist will report to the Operations Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

● Determine material requirements and delivery timelines for Production Department

● Communicate inbound delivery schedules

● Research and select suppliers based on multiple criteria

● Negotiate pricing and other key terms

● Purchase parts, tools and supplies

● Facilitate regular and accurate inventory and supply counts

● Calculate key inventory performance metrics such as turnover ratios and days of

inventory on hand

● Optimize purchasing plans for immediate, seasonal and growth demands

● Control inventory levels to minimize carrying costs

● Use Quickbooks to create purchase orders, receive deliveries and run reports

● Manage new and existing vendors and suppliers; monitor potential price increases and

research 2nd source vendors as appropriate

● Incorporate methods and techniques involved in lean and Just-in-Time (JIT)

management

 

Primary Qualifications:

 

● Familiarity with supply chain fundamentals

● IT proficiency including ERP, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite

● Analytical skills, familiarity with lean methodology and continuous improvement

● Experience negotiating supply contracts and maintaining optimal inventory levels

● Comfortable working in a resource constrained environment requiring rapid investment

Education & Experience:

 

● Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-3 years relevant professional experience

 

Compensation:

 

● Salary and stock options, depending on experience
