Senior User Researcher at Moovel Transit
Hamburg, DE

we are the Product Design team and an innovation lighthouse within moovel. Together with our product and tech colleagues, we build a product for bringing millions of people all over the world to their destinations each and every day. If you’re a product and feature driven mobile enthusiast you should join us on our journey inventing the mobility of the future!

First a quick look at us

moovel is part of a large global corporation (Daimler AG), but at the heart of it, we are a start-up. We act as a partner for cities, transport networks and customers with the goal of making cities smarter and creating an operating system for urban mobility that provides access to appropriate mobility options in urban areas and paves the way for the future with autonomous vehicles. Currently, 250 employees work in small creative teams in Germany and the U.S. at four locations - Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Portland.

What the new role will involve

Your overall mission will be to establish a mature framework for User Research within moovel. As a full member of the Product Design team, you’ll be deeply integrated in the product conception and designing process. You’ll create high- and low-fi prototypes and wireframes. You’ll perform lab as well as guerilla user testings. You’ll be the go-to professional when it comes to seamless user flows and interaction between all different sub-products of the moovel platform. You’ll drive quantitative as well as qualitative A/B tests together with our growth and analytics colleagues. To sum it up, you’ll have a significant stake in shaping and defining a world-wide product for millions of people.

Some of the things you will do

  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative user testings
  • Building and testing prototypes and click-dummies as well as performing user interviews and focus groups
  • Setting up A/B tests to gather insights for product conception
  • Working closely together with our growth & user analytics team, UI & UX designers and our product and tech teams
  • Deriving product strategy proposals based on user researching results
  • Travelling to Stuttgart and Portland regularly

About you

  • Degree or experience of some years in user research, product design, human interface design, or a related field
  • As we are a software company it would be great, if you are familiar working in a tech environment and if you bring already some work experience in product development
  • Passion for learning about urban mobility, multimodal platforms, and emerging disruptive technologies
  • Effectively communicate complicated concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Entrepreneurial, can-do attitude with a strong sense of product quality
  • Our corporate language is English, so you need good writing and communication skills. Also German skills are important to conduct user testing

You ’re a mobile, design and product nerd? You’ve gained experience with the topics named above? You’re reading this whole letter with excitement and you are more than ready for this challenge - we definitely have to talk.

We are more than ready to meet you!
