As the HR Manager, you will be primarily responsible for all HR initiatives and for cultivating an environment in which our employees thrive, at home and across our regional offices. You will ensure that HR objectives are met, that we are compliant with all applicable laws, and that our workplace and culture motivates our team members to do their best possible work. A successful candidate is experienced, dedicated, self-directed and heart-forward. Responsibilities:

Proactively build a positive, diverse work environment in line with Opal culture and values.
Administer HR reporting software for day to day activities, employee management and review.
Grow the Opal employee review program focusing on increased adoption, manager effectiveness and employee success.
Upscale Manager effectiveness through development of Manager resources and training.
Create/attend training and events to further improve dialogue around engagement, diversity and inclusion.
Own benefits administration, including educating employees on benefit options, assessing benefits needs and trends for the company at large, and working with external benefits vendors in furtherance of these objectives.
Collaborate with Opal’s in-house counsel and external legal resources to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to the HR function.
Proactively create new or revised documentation for policies, procedures, processes and forms (as needed).
Audit and maintain employee files, ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws.
Support and collaborate with Opal’s in-house and external legal resources for immigration support and support of regional offices.
Support Opal team members by resolving conflicts, mediating or offering a listening ear (as needed).
Assist in assessing, improving and customizing hiring and recruiting practices on both the company and department level.
Own the employee success journey.
Work in conjunction with Opal’s internal and external recruiting and hiring resources. to ensure alignment between Opal’s recruiting strategy and hiring needs and practices.
Model Opal values and act as a leader within the company.
Skills:

7-10 years of relevant experience with BS/MS degree in relevant subjects.
Startup and SaaS experience preferred.
PHR/SPHR/GPHR certificate preferred.
A strong track record of managing corporate initiatives and culture.
Proven experience optimizing HR systems and processes.
In-depth knowledge and experience in employment law, benefits, organizational planning and development, and employee success.
Excellent communication (verbal and visual) and organizational skills.
Ability to balance company and employee needs.
Demonstrated understanding of recruiting strategy and candidate acquisition.
Ability to influence key stakeholders and lead with confidence.
