VP of Engineering at Moovel Transit

The Job:

moovel has an exciting opening for an experienced VP of Engineering that has a passion for building and leading high performance teams that predictably and efficiently deliver high quality products that delight customers. In this position you will report directly to the CTO.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Contributing to high-level strategic planning decisions with product, account management, and executive teams
Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive the execution of the product roadmap and support existing customers
Collaborating with product management to define technical requirements, achieve design clarity based on requirements and define components
Performing strategic planning for all product development efforts, including the testing, and production releases
Building and managing three or more agile cross-functional teams driving the on-time execution of projects
Fostering a culture that values quality and continuous improvement
Helping teams understand the business vision and strategy
Ensuring teams have clear priorities and adequate resources
Driving and facilitating architecture, design, planning and scheduling
Communicating status, risks, and offering mitigation strategies to cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership
Providing guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
Measuring and continually improve performance across teams
Championing and maturing agile development values and practices
Establishing practices for recruiting, hiring and retaining top development talent
Providing budget estimates and participating in the budget planning process
Tracking and managing budgetary spending
Managing relationships with vendors, partners and customers
Communicating technical concepts, issues and risks to account managers and customers
Required Qualifications and Skills:

BS in Computer Science or related field
12+ years of hands-on software development experience
8+ years of experience managing multiple teams
Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
Proven ability to execute, lead and manage change
Understanding of mobile application publishing
Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Source Control (Git)
Expertise in Agile development methodologies
Practical experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
Hands on experience with mobile and web application development
Knowledge of RESTful APIs
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Understanding of the AWS stack
