Head of Quality Assurance at Moovel Transit

The Job:

moovel is seeking a highly-motivated Head of Quality Assurance with the expertise to lead the transformation of the Quality Assurance discipline across the organization. The ideal candidate will be capable of collaborating across the organization to establish a quality focus while leading the Quality Assurance team in the development and execution of automated and manual testing.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to define and implement the Quality Assurance policies, procedures, standards and strategies
Working with Account Management, Product, Development, Development Operations and Support teams to drive changes that ensure high quality deliverables and launches
Establishing a metrics-driven approach to measuring and improving quality
Expanding the breadth and depth of test coverage
Working with Engineering, Product Management, and other cross functional teams to assure testing meets requirements
Providing budget estimates and participate in the budget planning process
Tracking and managing budgetary spending
Communicating testing results, risks, and offering mitigation strategies to cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership
Managing relationships and deliverables of outsourced resources
Building and managing the Quality Assurance team
Providing guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
Recruiting, hiring and retaining highly skilled Quality Assurance talent
Reporting to the VP of Engineering

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or equivalent, or equivalent combination of experience
10+ years experience in quality assurance or software development role
5+ years experience in leading a Quality Assurance program
Proven experience managing test automation engineers, as well as internal and outsourced manual testers
Hands on experience with automated and manual testing of iOS and Android applications, web applications and APIs
Understanding of mobile and web security and ADA standards
Hands on experience with several of the following tools: Appium, Protractor, Selenium, Android Studio, Espresso, Xcode, Instruments
Understanding of publishing mobile application to the Apple Store and Google Play
Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Source Control (Git)
Expertise in Agile development methodologies
Practical experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and open source API testing frameworks
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Basic understanding of the AWS stack
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Knowledge of GraphQL and strategies for testing
Experience with Javascript, Python and Go test frameworks
Embedded hardware testing technologies
