Marketing Coordinator at Lumen Learning

The Marketing Coordinator is an integral member of Lumen Learning’s Adoption Team, planning and executing marketing-related activities to help the company meet quarterly goals for the number of students using Lumen-supported course materials, and leading to greater textbook cost savings and academic success for students. The Marketing Coordinator works to support day-to-day customer communications and marketing operations including campaigns, projects, and events. S/he is a creative thinker and problem-solver with excellent written and verbal communications, strong technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously.

Organization Alignment

This position reports to the Vice President of Strategy & Communication
Coordinates with Regional Account Managers to support key accounts, regional enrollment goals, and client success objectives
Works closely with Product Team to support effective product marketing strategy, brand-building, and execution
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Executive Leadership and Product Managers on messaging, competitive differentiation and brand-building for Lumen’s courseware products
Collaborate with Regional Account Managers to align marketing strategy and campaign execution with regional adoption strategy, key account strategies, and enrollment goals
Design, plan, and execute marketing campaigns and customer communication activities to support organizational objectives for the company, product lines, and regional adoption targets
Use web marketing (WordPress), CRM system (Pipedrive) and marketing automation system (Hubspot) to plan and execute marketing activities including segmentation, targeting, market data analysis, marketing and adoption support campaigns, and customer communications
Monitor market dynamics to stay abreast of changes in customer needs, marketing channels, the competitive landscape, and growth opportunities, in order to ensure marketing activities remain relevant and effective
Orchestrate and manage processes for handling and nurturing inbound inquiries and leads
Contribute to planning, administration and representing the company at conferences and events
Contribute to developing new and improved sales and marketing processes and support materials to address evolving market needs and opportunities

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Excellent written and verbal communications
Strong technical skills using standard business applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, CRM-type tools, web content creation)
Experience using a variety of traditional marketing, digital marketing, and social media channels
Ability to conduct marketing data analysis
Eager, positive attitude and can-do mindset
Exceptional communication skills that make people love you and want to work with you more
The ability to hear, understand, analyze, and address issues
Familiarity with doing business in the education sector and/or education technology is a strong plus

The position is based in Portland, Oregon. It requires periodic travel to education conferences, industry events, and customer sites.
