Regional Account Manager at Lumen Learning

The Regional Account Manager works with institutional leaders and faculty to guide strategy, planning and wide-scale adoption of Lumen-supported open educational resources (OER) at colleges and universities within their region. The individual in this position is an evangelist with the ability to build collaboration opportunities and lead change among academic leaders and faculty in support of effective OER adoption. The Regional Account Manager is responsible for meeting quarterly goals for the number of students using Lumen-supported course materials at institutions within their region, leading to greater textbook cost savings and academic success for students. These student enrollment targets are met largely by increasing the number of faculty members, sections and students using Lumen materials at institutions already working with Lumen. Enrollments also come from adding some new institutions as Lumen clients. Specific enrollment targets exist for each of the company’s products. This position is also responsible for leading, delivering, and coordinating the initial services implementations, workshops and ongoing training for clients. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with innovation in higher education focused on teaching and learning, technology, student services and/or related areas. S/he must be an experienced leader who can collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality and at times complex engagements within planned timeframes.

Enlists the support of organizational resources but is tasked with leading delivery of implementation and training services within their region
Closely coordinates company executive involvement with client management
Works closely with support functions to ensure client satisfaction and problem resolution
Key Responsibilities

Achieve company enrollment commitments and client impact goals

Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to clients in your region
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships that reflect Lumen values
Develop a trusted relationship with institutional partners, providing valuable assistance in achieving institutional goals for student access and success
Interact and work effectively with individuals at all levels institutional leadership and across all functions that support teaching, learning and technology
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to client needs and objectives
Clearly understand the universe of clients in your region
Accurately forecast and deliver enrollments on a quarterly basis
Effectively use Lumen systems, most especially our CRM, to track account communication and performance metrics
Identify and grow opportunities within the region and collaborate with support and production teams to ensure attainment of growth goals
Proactively lead a strategic account planning process that develops performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for a one to three-year period
Proactively assess, clarify, and validate client needs on an ongoing basis
Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, product, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and client expectations

This position will work with Lumen customers in Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Tennessee and Virginia. The position requires regular travel to customer sites in the region, and a quarterly visit to the company office in Portland, Oregon.
