The Auth0 VP People will report to the CEO, and work closely with colleagues on the leadership team, to maintain and evolve Auth0’s unique culture by building a world class human resources function at Auth0. This position is one of major importance, impact and visibility. From our Bellevue (Seattle) office, The VP People will be responsible both for curating Auth0’s strong culture as well as overseeing people strategies including compliance, recruitment, talent management/employee satisfaction, compensation, and other learning and development goals for our 25-country team. Auth0 has consciously borrowed and adapted people management strategies from industry-leading organizations with strong cultures, like Netflix, Amazon, LinkedIn and Convex Computer, that are congruent with Auth0’s culture and its values of intense mutual respect and trust of every team member. This person will take these values and extend them into a unique Auth0 differentiated culture.

Key objectives and performance measures include:

Lead all aspects of culture, talent and HR in order to further strengthen our cultural foundations and to build the HR function and its data-driven systems and processes into a world class organization. The VP People is a key contributor on the executive leadership team and a thoughtful and wise participant in Board discussions to help the company prepare for and transition through aggressive growth in both its team and its product portfolio.

Culture/Values: Help the leadership team preserve and evolve Auth0’s culture and values through organizational architectural design, through effective internal communications and activities designed to reinforce the values/culture, all within the framework of a deep understanding of change management at scale in a highly distributed global organization.

Compensation, Performance Management, and Talent Acquisition: Develop and ensure Auth0 has compensation strategies which lead the industry and are equitable internally through a strong partnership with fellow members of the leadership team. Ensure Auth0 has a compelling and effective Performance Management processes, and is always in the position to attract top-tier talent that can maintain and enhance its Leadership:strong brand equity.

Compliance/Controls/Systems Implementation: Drive Auth0 towards being IPO-ready through tooling and processes to ensure SOX compliance. Ensure the company is operating in accordance with local employment law in every country the company transacts.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 15 years experience with at least 7 years in mid-large, late stage private companies, and/or early stage public companies as the leading HR executive
Track record of building programs and policies enabling a global organization to scale (Auth0 has employees in 25+ countries, and half if its revenue comes from outside the US)
Ideally has experience as the HR leader leading a US company through an IPO
Has built, maintained and evolved a strong performance based culture
Experience in scaling companies (ideally ~300 to over 1,000+) or in similar hypergrowth situations
Incredible written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of business and financial practices (both in and out of the HR Function)
Ability to coach and lead other executives while being part of the executive team
Demonstrated success in collaborating cross-organizationally, both qualitatively and with data, to ensure mission and values are present in initiatives (both people and non people)
Ideally has led significant growth in a product and engineering-driven company
