Director of Product at Moovel Transit

The Job:

As Director of moovel North America’s product team, you will contribute the vision and the roadmap for our portfolio of products defining the future of urban mobility. We work with government agencies, app developers, ride providers, and directly with consumers to improve transportation and payment in cities around the world. Our Director of Product must be an innovator and thought leader who always puts product-market fit first, and effectively communicates this vision internally and to clients. We are creating the transportation system of tomorrow.

The Director of Product will report directly to the Chief Product Officer. The ideal candidate should be an excellent mentor and team leader, promoting accountability and ownership within the product team and building strong partnerships between product, design, engineering, and marketing. You will manage a group, that includes product managers and product owners, executing tactically to build a top-performing team. As a team player, you will work alongside the Design Team and VP of Engineering to make development and platform decisions - coordinating closely with the Chief Business Development Officer and Director of Marketing to bring products to market.

You must have a deep understanding of mobile best practices, strong knowledge in building mobile and web user experiences, and the ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative data to support feature prioritization and positioning. You are detail oriented and will roll up your sleeves to ensure that your products meet the highest standards of customer experience, exceed client expectations, and are scalable across the globe.

Primary Responsibilities:

Shape, manage, and advance moovel’s portfolio of mobile app, SDK and web products
Lead and grow a team of product managers and owners to drive product definition
Identify, capture, and forecast key market trends and translate them into potential solutions
Study competitive offerings in the market and anticipate customer and client needs
Manage and maintain the roadmap for the product portfolio
Ensure individual product roadmaps deliver the necessary features and users experiences required to meet business and customer objectives
Be an advocate for the user and customer. Usher in a culture of empathy and focus for the end user experience
Collaborate with technical, business, marketing and operations teams, as well as a product team at our parent company based in Stuttgart, Germany
Own and advance the long-term product vision
Own and maintain all product documentation
Other duties and responsibilities as required by the company
Desired Skills and Experience:

5+ years of Product Management in a high-tech company.
2+ years of leading medium size teams of product people.
Proven track record managing multiple ongoing complex projects and implementation across a portfolio of mobile and web products.
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to pitch vision and strategy.
Experience in leveraging the diversity of skill sets that are found on every team.
Customer-focused and aware of managing change so client delivery remains successful.
Eager to foster team development, including training, coaching, providing feedback, and team-wide communication.
Technical depth that fosters understanding and earns the respect of engineers.
Nice to Have Skills:

Bonus if you have transportation experience, insight or passion
Agile/PMP/CSPM certifications are a plus
