Sales Engineer at Cloudability

The Sales Engineer (SE) role partners with the Sales Account Executive, Technical Account Manager (TAM) and Support teams to increase revenue and grow our customer base by reducing customer time to value (TTV).

The SE will be primarily responsible for supporting territory and account strategy, tailored solution presentations, owning and running the Proof of Values (PoVs) from a technical perspective ensuring prospects are completing health scoring criteria essential to success. You will create configured reporting, dashboards, and coach prospects on cost efficiency strategy following a proven formula of customer health.

By combining a deep understanding customer workflows and technical requirements, collaborating with product management on product development, and articulating customer needs to the Customer Success team when prospects become customers, you will help convert prospects to customers and ensure they are successful (green) as quickly as possible.

You will serve as the first line of technical strategy for prospects and new customers, partnering with TAMs on deeper technical challenges and onboarding.

What you’ll do (Responsibilities):

Own and manage the Proof of Value (PoV) from a technical perspective

Support Sales and partner with TAMs on technical and product specific questions

Offer presales consultation for partners and customers with regards to their cloud efficiency strategy

Create and deliver presentations at customer site or on events

Assist in onboarding prospects to customers

Offer ongoing technical training for the sales team

Respond to technical and functional elements of RFPs/RFI

Cross-train as a TAM by managing a small collection of customers in order to bring knowledge of the entire customer lifecycle to the sale process

Partner with Sales Enablement and Product Marketing to identify areas to improve pre-sales materials

The right candidate will have (Requirements):

Strong understanding of sales, marketing and SaaS solution selling

IaaS knowledge: AWS Technical Essentials certification or higher (or equivalent knowledge)

Analytics/Data: Ability to navigate complex data sets and pull out insights using SQL or similar tools

Account Management: Experienced in account management and/or technical client-facing support (2+ years)

Experience in leading product demonstrations and online sales meetings

Skilled at building relationships with customers and co-workers

Persistent, tenacious and able to deal with people when they are happy or not

A great communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts

Self-starter, independent and proactive

Bonus Stuff:

B.S. in Computer Science related field or equivalent experience

Hands-on understanding of virtualization technologies

Ability to travel 50%
