Network Integration Engineer at Bigleaf Networks

Position Summary
Consulting with customers, partners, and team members: Our service is easy to use, but is built with advanced SD-WAN technology. You’ll communicate the functionality and value we bring in a way that helps customers and partners understand how our service will meet their business needs and integrate with their networks. This will primarily be done via phone and web conferences, but occasionally in person.
Technical support: We take pride in providing excellent service to our customers, eliminating the typical finger-pointing through skillful troubleshooting. You’ll use your troubleshooting skills to support customers during install and post-install.
Design of technical marketing and documentation material: You’ll create network diagrams, white-papers, and other documents to communicate with customers and partners, and for internal documentation.
Network operations: Our customers expect outstanding network reliability and performance. You’ll occasionally help with network operations by troubleshooting internet peering and routing, evaluating network performance, and other operational needs.
Required Qualifications
At least 3 year of experience in a customer-facing network engineering role
A passion for serving customers
Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to people with varying backgrounds
Self-starter approach to identifying and accomplishing goals
Natural ability to incrementally troubleshoot technical problems
Very strong understanding of Networking fundamentals (e.g. if you don’t know what ARP is and how it works then this isn’t the role for you).
Understanding of how specific network issues affect application performance (e.g. how does packet loss affect TCP throughput? Or what are the effects of jitter on VoIP?)
Some experience with Linux
Strong desire to be a critical member of a tight-knit team
Strong desire to learn and grow
Ability to travel occasionally (several times per quarter)
