To support our company’s rapid growth, we are hiring a Managing Director, Capital Markets with a proven track record of sourcing new opportunities and closing deals in the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) industry and specifically the capital markets arena. This position can be based anywhere in the USA and reports to our VP of Sales.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Managing Director, Capital Markets, you will be responsible for sourcing deals from institutional-quality CRE developers, owners, operators (collectively “sponsors”) within your designated territory for our Marketplace. You will bring your extensive relationships with sponsors in your region, coupled with your expert knowledge of CRE capital markets in order to ramp quickly, build a large pipeline of opportunities, and close five or more deals every quarter. You will work closely with the CrowdStreet Investment Committee to screen new sponsors, their deals and investment structures to uphold the high standards of our Marketplace.
By leveraging your established reputation for CRE knowledge and consultative selling, you will create new, long-term and programmatic relationships with sponsors for CrowdStreet. You will teach prospective sponsors about online fundraising and why the CrowdStreet Marketplace is the future of CRE investing. You will acquire new customers by compelling them to try online fundraising for the first time. You will also create leads for our white-label investment management software sales team to license our technology to Marketplace-eligible sponsors.
To support your success, you will be partnered with a Capital Markets Associate for your region, whose primary responsibility is to make outbound calls, qualify sponsors, and schedule meetings for you.
What We Must Have:
5+ years of investment sales and/or capital markets experience in CRE
3+ years of experience sourcing CRE opportunities within a specific region
Deep relationships with CRE sponsors in your territory
A belief in the CrowdStreet Mission to “Transform CRE Investing” and a passion to help lead the industry forward
Not Required, But Nice To Have:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Business or related field
Experience with selling a Marketplace solution
Experience with advanced sales automation tools (i.e. Salesforce)
