To support our finance and accounting team’s rapid growth, we are hiring an Accounting Manager,  reporting to the Director of Finance, to help lead the accounting team with operational and technical accounting excellence, while helping scale our growing business with new process and systems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage the accounting cycle, including the close process, revenue recognition, commissions, receivables and payables and expense management

  • Manage the reporting process for use by the management team and the BOD

  • Lead the budgeting process including timely and accurate budget to actual reporting

  • Lead, develop, and build out a highly functioning accounting team (currently senior accountant and year-round intern)

  • Manage tax filings and compliance with external preparer and the annual external audit

  • Lead technical accounting research and prepare complete research memo’s

  • Expand and help lead the development of internal controls

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to accounting processes, systems and operational process and systems to support the scaling of the company

  • Support ad-hoc requests including financial and data analysis and special projects

What We Must Have

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in ideally a combination of at least 3 years of public accounting and industry “in-house” accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting 

  • A “roll up your sleeves” self starter/motivator that is nimble and able to adapt in a fast paced environment.

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in both operational and technical accounting (including revenue recognition (ASC 606))

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small accounting team, developing team members, while also able to act as an individual contributor on more complex matters

  • Experience with financial analysis and supporting the reporting and analysis of KPIs

  • Experience in a high growth technology startup environment

  • Strong project management aptitude and ability to manage a project/process through from start to finish

  • Experience with Gsuite, NetSuite, Salesforce, Quickbooks, Bill.com, MineralTree, Expensify, or similar systems AND advanced user of Excel/Google Sheets

Not Required, But Nice to Have

  • Master’s level degree in Accounting and/or Finance

  • Experience in an online marketplace, commercial real estate  or investment fund accounting
