Senior Manager, Public Relations & Communications at The Riveter

The Senior Manager of Public Relations and Communications is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications initiatives to increase awareness of and affinity for The Riveter brand and its leadership team. They will maintain oversight and accountability for all internal and external communications, including strategy, design, budget, execution and measurement. Further, this person will work within a dynamic and lean marketing team to oversee and operationalize communication plans to include local press for new markets, sustaining efforts for existing markets, as well proposing, pitching and managing national press opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee, develop and refine internal and external communications strategy and execute components (newsletter, blog, podcast and external community content) to engage a national audience and attract new members
  • With a goal to raise visibility, manage PR, including drafting and distributing press releases and media pitches, manage photography, awards and speaking nominations, assist with speech writing, coordinate with online media outlets to publicize The Riveter, and more
  • Work closely with internal teams, including staff in new markets, to enhance communications messaging, align stories and have maximum impact
  • Manage local and national PR agencies
  • Develop and pursue opportunities to position The Riveter leadership as thought leaders in key areas, including in media profiles, high-impact speaking engagements, and op-eds
  • Develop and maintain strong corporate communications channels with streamlined touchpoints, providing an excellent brand experience
  • Develop and oversee communication plans of new markets, programs and partnerships
  • Support communications needs of marketing initiatives and The Riveter programming our to external audiences as appropriate
  • Develop key talking points for investor relations, both existing board members and potential investors
  • Support our executive leadership team to ensure key press moments are amplified across channels, and critical points are outlined
  • Evaluate social listening, publishing platforms & PR Measurement tools
  • Curate and cultivate influencers by region

You’re our Ideal Candidate if You:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree or 4 or more years of US military experience
  • Have 2 or more years of experience in a role drafting and issuing external or internal corporate communications
  • Have 1 or more year(s) of experience in a role developing and managing agency partners
  • Have 2 or more years of experience in a project management
