What You’ll Be Doing

To support our company’s rapid growth, we are hiring a B2B Business Development Associate. This position will be based in Portland, Oregon and reports to our Director of Sales.

The Business Development Associate plays a critical role in growing CrowdStreet’s business. In this role you will own inbound leads that come through our marketing funnel. Our customers are primarily private real estate investment firms. Your top priorities will be to speak with inbound leads, qualify them, validate their needs, relay the core value of CrowdStreet, and ultimately book meetings for our Sales Representatives. 

The ability to prioritize inbound leads from an omni channel approach and efficiently engage with C-suite level professionals is paramount to success in this role. You should be an enthusiastic teammate who is driven, earnest, and methodical. A large component of your role is the ability to have a conversational-based discovery call to understand the customers needs and identify potential opportunities. You will need to be an effective education-based sales person with the ability to compel prospects to continue the sales process.

Qualifications

What We Must Have

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Have a clear and concise communication style along with excellent phone skills, written, and oral communication skills. Professionalism and comfort speaking with C-suite executives.

  • Phone Experience: Whether it’s direct phone sales, a previous BD/SDR/MDR role, fundraising phone work, political campaign phone banking, etc., you must have some experience prospecting/selling or working on phones.

  • Self-Starter: Be hard-working, persistent and self-motivated.

  • Curious: Be inquisitive and skilled at asking great questions.

  • Assertive: Possess the ability to ask for the sale (booking an appointment for your Sales Representative), and do so in a way that comes naturally within the context of each outbound call.

Not Required, But Nice to Have

  • One year+ at a Business-to-Business organization in an Inside Sales Development or Inside Sales role

  • Recent graduates and internship experience welcome

  • Exposure to commercial real estate 

  • Fintech or finance industry experience

  • Software sales or marketing experience

  • Familiarity with marketing best practices
