Senior Accountant at The Riveter

The Riveter is looking for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for overseeing and administering assigned functions within accounting, ensuring efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of information. The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing financial information to management, investors and staff members. One ultimate goal of this role is to ensure accounting strategies and tactics are sound, enabling leadership to focus more completely on growing the business, and to best support organization-wide decision-making and information reliability. This role is based in Seattle and will report to our COO’s team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage all accounting responsibilities and assignments including A/P, Revenue Recognition, Payroll & Cash Processing
  • Coordinate and prepares timely and accurate monthly financial statements at consolidated and location level including P&L, balance sheet and statement of cash flow.
  • Facilitate general ledger accounts including interface with Nexudus sales system
  • Monitor internal control functions; coordinates implementation of new controls as necessary
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank and credit card statements
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
  • Research technical accounting positions and processes as necessary, using and interpreting US GAAP
  • Coordinate external reporting needs including tax returns and investor requirements
  • Track, validate and monitor all aspects of our leases, including rent payment, opex audits, and ongoing reconciliation
  • Build operational and internal control processes for new and evolving aspects of the business
  • Drive process improvement projects to streamline and automate manual workflows
  • Assist Operations, Marketing, Real Estate, Construction, and Finance with regular and ad hoc requests
  • Develop additional reports as needed to meet management needs
  • Design accounting processes in advance of audits, so that audit needs are met
  • Assist with audit requests from external auditors
  • Produce a high volume of work under a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Other accounting related duties and tasks as assigned

You’re Our Ideal Teammate if You:

  • Have 5 years work experience with progressive responsibilities and proven knowledge of budgets, forecasting, preparing financial statements and accuracy managing of cash, accounts payable and payroll procedures
  • Have intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Have previous lease administration experience
  • Have 4-year degree in business administration with concentration in accounting
  • Have knowledge of, and proven ability to apply, general accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Have demonstrated communication (written and oral) skills; proven ability to communicate with non-accounting staff and develop implementation plans within accounting guidelines which meet their needs
  • Are able to thrive in an environment that requires working under and meeting tight deadlines
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member as required
  • Focus on accuracy, an eye for detail, and a curious mind to uncover and solve hidden problems
