Staff Accountant at Cloudability

Cloudability is seeking a highly professional and motivated Staff Accountant to perform a variety of payroll and accounting duties. Qualified candidates will have a basic understanding of payroll and accounting topics and must show an interest in continuing to learn and support other departments with purchasing processes and administration of our expense reimbursement system. This person will also provide support in the month-end close, as well implementing best practices across the team. Additionally, they will assist with special projects as assigned by the Finance team. Payroll Processing

  • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll, including review of all payroll changes and benefits adjustments
  • Ensure taxes and withholdings are properly reflected in the payroll system
  • Register the company for payroll taxes and understand payroll tax law in new states, as applicable

Accounts Payable

  • Review and code all vendor invoices for entry
  • Record all normal monthly payments (rents, company services, utility bills, etc) and other approved bills (legal, insurance, other professional services, etc) into the accounting database
  • Weekly payment processing via company check and ACH for all payments approved by VP of Finance
  • Reimbursement payments for employee expenses
  • Review applicable banking transactions to ensure all check and ACH payments were processed accurately and accounted for
  • Monthly review of outstanding invoices and contracts to ensure accuracy of month-end accrued liabilities

Fixed Assets

  • Maintain compliance with our fixed asset policy
  • Process fixed asset additions, retirements and depreciation monthly

Employee Expense Reimbursements

  • Administer our expense reimbursement policy and system
  • Review all expense reports for compliance with policy
  • Record all expense reports to the GL, including month-end accruals

Other Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end close reconciliations, including posting of journal entries
  • Support and respond to internal and external audit requests
  • Participate in developing and maintaining department processes; provide timely support of close calendar deadlines
  • Other ad-hoc project


  • Two or more years of progressive experience in corporate accounting
  • Hands-on experience operating financial and reporting systems is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional, and quality manner
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Set a good example of personal integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self motivated
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes
